Anyway the flight was great. 6 hours that passed so fast that I only managed to watch one film (the Book Thief) and start the first like 20 minutes of another (the Secret Life of Walter Mitty). The rest of the time was spent on checking all the billions films they had, talking to the people in my group and eating.
Last time I flew long flights were to Asia at least 4 or 5 years ago. So things have changed since last. The windows were so sci fi ish! Instead of those window shields, they had dimmers - five different levels! You just pressed a button and the window darkened, got bluer. It got really dark blue almost immediately but took a few seconds to get completely light, at which point it looked like a completely regular window.
~Later~
Finally at the hotel! 5-star! We will leave at 5am and we got here at 1am...so some people were just gonna order room service for our vouchers, shower and then just not go to sleep.
Second night in three nights with less than 3 hours of sleep..."good" thing is though that by at least staying in a hotel, I can validly say I have been to Qatar. I also thought we'd be at an airport hotel but there seemed to be very few of those...so we actually drove into town. Maybe we're in a suburb though, who knows...So again; validly in Qatar. I also got the first stamp in this passport! I've travelled a lot but people just don't stamp things anymore... My old passports have visas to China, Vietnam, Japan and stamps to Egypt and goodness knows the places I've been. This passport I've had for almost two years and this is the first stamp! Admittedly though also the first time outside of Europe in two years.
Anyways, now I've finally got my room service sandwich and juice. Will warm myself some tea and try to sleep a tiny while.
Next time writing from Uganda! Adiós! (wishing I could write that in arabic...)
